Canine card: Pretty lady

This pretty lady is a Japanese Chin. I wanted to make sure the photo was the star of the card and everything else was just secondary. Like an ancient geisha she never goes anywhere without her flowered fan. The bling is like a soft whisper of wind traveling through.

Mini Album: Our Family Photo

Their family is a unique and tightly bonded one. In this the last page in the anniversary mini album I created for my sister, the chinese proverb is perfect. This proverb states 'One generation plants the trees, another gets the shade.'

Mini Album: The key to love

This is the back cover of the canvas mini album I gifted to my sister and her husband. They just celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary. Their love is a clear example of what it takes for love to remain solid. From college to AKC dog shows they remain together through thick and thin.

Sneak Peek: Fairy Tale

To most people the phrase "Once upon a time" brings to mind a fairy tale, and that was my idea as the theme for the scrapbook page to follow tomorrow.

Card: Circle celebration

Whenever I create a card I like using different products that work together well... In this card I included Modern Dot turquoise paper (Creative Imaginations), Gaffer tape (7Gypsies), Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin border stickers (Stampin' Up), and Zinnia patterned paper/Epoxy sticker (Little Yellow Bicycle).

When I looked closely at one of my 7Gypsies gaffer tapes I knew I wanted to use it. The butterfly is a dimensional sticker by Debbie Mumm for Creative Imaginations.

Altered project: Canvas Always

I bought this small canvas panels on one of my shopping trips a while back, so when inspiration hit for a sampler type project I brought it out. I didn't really have a template in mind but I knew that I wanted to include some of the new Stampin Up's ALWAYS stamp set (#111141). The gaffer tape is 7Gypsies Arithmetique, and a Heidi Swapp ghost clock. I placed a 7Gypsies Romantique label where I wanted the clock center and attached the clock with a Stampin Up jewel brad. The flowers on the side of the panel are from SU's new Seasonal Sayings rubons (#111418). Added a few Doodlebug jewels and distressed the edges with Versamagic Gingerbread and Jumbo Java dew drop chalk inks.

Wonderful Wednesdays: August ATC

On this my first installment of "Wonderful Wednesdays" I wanted to show you how I used those butterflies. I wanted to keep as much of their vibrancy as possible so I printed them out on inkjet transparency sheets. These are my first ATC cards for APieceofcraft . Marion Smith is an inspiration with all the embossing idea videos on Youtube. My strong in divine guidance allowed me to find her online. In these I used Arithmetique gaffer tape by 7Gypsies, Stampin Up Vanilla cardstock and jewel brads from the pretties kit, as well as stamps from the Make it Count stamp set. I have also always wanted to play with some Dee Gruenig brush markers I bought a while back. I wanted to make the stamps echo the colors of the butterflies and I found myself wondering why I hadn't thought of the idea before. I will definitely make up for that oversight from now on.

Scrapbook: Captured in time

This is a photo of my grandfather. When he was a child his father sent him (from the Dominican Republic) to the United States to attend school. I think it's a wonderful vision captured in time. I used American Crafts foam thickers letters/parentheses, Bo Bunny brads, Stampin Up ribbon tinted with distress inks, SU hodgepodge hardware aged copper frame/buckle, 7gypsies gaffer tape (Zanzibar black), and epoxy stickers.

Scrapbook: Unique flower

Another one of my Texas-created pages. This is one of my mother's favorite photos of me just because she put so much energy and time into my hair & ballerina dress. I refused to smile for the photographer. I used tons of Prima flowers, Stampin Up rhinestone brads, 7Gypsies gaffer tape, and Tim Holtz muse tokens (UNIQUE). I distressed the paper with Tim Holtz Distress inks (Tea Dye).

Scrapbook: Handle with care

This is one of my favorite childhood pictures of myself. As a child my whole family would spend every sunday at my grandparents home playing with my cousins. This was taken at my grandparents' house on one of those sundays. Before I went to Texas I shipped 3 boxes of goodies to show my cousins the new wonders of scrapbooking. This was one of the pages I created while I was there. I used Stampin Up very vanilla cardstock and Designer Series Fall Flowers paper, Heidi Swapp round bling frame, 7gypsies gaffer tape, SU Groovy guava double stitched ribbon, Prima journaling sheet & bling, K&Co rubon, and a SU hodgepodge hardware S clip in aged copper.

Mini Book: Nurture Your Soul

My brother just started a new job and I thought since he was going through a little slump I would make him a mini book that would inspire him and act as a good luck charm. On this SU On Board Bitty Book I used Sandylion Patterned Paper (PIRATES TREASURE MAP), Frances Meyer PP (WILDWOOD BOUQUET), Liquitex Basics Acrylic Paint (MAGENTA Quinacridone), We R Memory Keepers PP (BOHO CHIC WHIMSY WILD), Sticko Label Lingo stickers (ZEN LABEL), Sticko Style Getaways (Travel Abroad), 7 Gypsies gaffer tape (BROWN double-stitched), Stampin Up rubons, and Fresh Cuts Accents (VINTAGE TRAVEL).

Cards: Make a Wish

I love the punch of color the die cut blooms flower adds to this card. Used the She's All That stamp set, SU Au Chocolat paper, SU River Rock double-stitched ribbon, and 7 Gypsies Zanzibar Black gaffer tape. The corner piece on the top of the card was cut from Die Cuts with a View Pocket Full of Posies glitter paper. I broke out those cute Wal-mart (can't remember the brand) yellow mini roses to add to the embellished die cut blooms...and TA-DAH!

Cards: Life is Good

I fell in love with the She's All That stamp set so I used it again on this long notes card (Groovy Guava, I think). The cool circle accent is 7 Gypsies Zanzibar Black gaffer tape. I wanted to pep it up with ribbon and bling so I used flower rhinestones (yep, Walmart find again), SU purely pomegranate double-stitched ribbon, green ribbon (possibly Michaels), and thin ribbon. The heart was a stamp from the Simply Said stamp set.

Marquetry masterpiece

On January 19th I posted a little taste of this project. I am always on the lookout for new material to work with and last month while shopping at an educational supply store I found these gems. They are double-sided marquetry (wood veneer) pieces which you can arrange in whatever way you want. I created this for my cousin Jenna Palomino and her family. Each corner was separated to make individual mini albums with each family member's initial. The mini album is held closed with a Stampin Up circle clip and attached to the canvas with a Making Memories decorative brad that makes it swivel open. The center I embellished with one of the new We R Memory Keepers grommlets (used the new CROP-A-DILE BIG BITE), Doodlebug rhinestone, and MAMBI rhinestone word (FAMILY). This specific project i mounted on a canvas and then wrapped the edges with 7Gypsies gaffer tape. I found using gaffer tape makes an unfinished canvas look framed.
