Handmade card: Momma Gloria's birthday card
In my last post I referenced a crystal inspiration card. This is the complete picture now that the recipient (Momma Gloria) has received it. I treasure the reaction to my heirloom creations and I was told she purchased a frame to proudly display the card and envelope. She was stunned that someone had created such an ornate card.

Handmade card: Camila's 22nd birthday
My family is celebrating my niece's 22nd birthday today. We have been through so many stages with her. There were the Barney years (can still hear that song in my head, you know the one I mean), the Harry Potter saga (complete with standing in lines to be the first to see each movie), and who could forget the Goth years (with black everything). I am here on behalf we survived all of the stages with Camila and as a reward now have the cool chick portrayed on this card. NOTE: She has now received the card in Florida and loved it!

Card: Susan's farewell
This is the completed card I created for a traveling nurse who is moving to Montana. She is loved by everyone who works with her. Every spare moment she spends in the employee breakroom knitting a gift for a friend or family member.
I wanted this card to act as a souvenir of her time in Austin. I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to create a postcard full of signature images of Austin (longhorns, capitol building, wildflowers).
Topped with blue crystals that guide the eye to the embellished heart wrapped with the proverbial bonds of friendship that will endure time and distance.
Thanks to all of you who follow my blog and are gracious enough to leave me comments of how you like what I do.

Card: Curiosity
They say the greatest finds in life is when you follow your curiosity to places that you would not have otherwise never gone. I followed my curiosity to my local Goodwill store where I found a wonderful wreath ($1.99) covered in lovely orange feathers. The fairy image was from a clickart cd I had in my stash (never used). The paper is from the incomparable Tim Holtz. It is such a unique card I left it with no caption and blank inside. Any suggestions? You are welcome to fill in the blank

Whenever I create a card I like using different products that work together well... In this card I included Modern Dot turquoise paper (Creative Imaginations), Gaffer tape (7Gypsies), Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin border stickers (Stampin' Up), and Zinnia patterned paper/Epoxy sticker (Little Yellow Bicycle).Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Challenge: Got Sketch Butterfly
.bmp)

My dear friend Melina has always been there for me.... and this week she invited me to do an online challenge with her. It gave a nice kick in the pants I did not know I needed. The sketch was from Got Sketch. As far as the sentiment I could not come up with one that I liked.
