Handmade card: Hugs and Kisses

This is what resulted from my wanting to create a beautifully feminine card. I feel like people fail to send cards like this just to let someone know they are thinking of them. Heart cards are NOT just for Valentine's day. My goal  is to let my loved ones know I love them every day not just on holidays.

Handmade envelope: Heaven sent

I have fun choosing the perfect stitched brad for every handmade envelope. It has to complement and enhance the overall look of the envelope.

The  front of the envelope was embellished with a felt flower, lace and smash tape ribbons, pinwheel button, bling and pearls. The paper is by Heidi Swapp's Color Magic line. I love working with this paper by coloring it with some Tim Holtz peacock feathers distress ink. The middle of the flower I embellished with a found object before placing the pearl into it.

Canine card: Pretty lady

This pretty lady is a Japanese Chin. I wanted to make sure the photo was the star of the card and everything else was just secondary. Like an ancient geisha she never goes anywhere without her flowered fan. The bling is like a soft whisper of wind traveling through.

Handmade envelope: Father's Day from Yoshi

Here's the handmade envelope for the Father's Day card I created for Yoshi's daddy. He was particular that it had to be colorful like his Poppa's favorite shirts. The buttons were my idea and thankfully he allowed me to put them on the front of the envelope. The flower was found in one of the Michaels' clearance bin, and I was so happy that it almost matched the patterned paper perfectly.

Handmade: Wild and Colorful Birthday

I have some exciting news coming soon and to that end I am creating a brand new level of cards and envelopes.

My goal this year is to be more resourceful and creative to challenge myself to be the best cardmaker/scrapbook I can be. My handwriting has rarely made an appearance but I am focusing on adding more of it to my projects.

This birthday card is perfect for anyone who wants to wish someone a wild and crazy birthday.

Card: Friends Forever

The paper used for this card was from the same collection. The idea came about after watching a video on YouTube on how to use your stash.

I find great inspiration from YouTube videos. The way I see it, just because I didn't come up with the idea it does not diminish its creativity.

Card: With love

In two days I will be celebrating my 43rd birthday. When I look back on my year I am resolved to live the following year with more love toward myself and then to others. You see, I have a problem saying no to people and that has caused me to put myself last. As selfish as it sounds I will be moving away from this phase, but "WITH LOVE"

Card: Blow out the candles

This was a surprise birthday card for my friend Joycy. She loves pink, green and pretty patterns. I had the rest of our team sign it and they oohed and aahed all day!

Card: Sew classy birthday

Luck has been my friend lately, and never so clearly as when I was commissioned to create this special birthday card for a coworker. Veronica's mother is a creative seamstress and when I heard that I knew what products I wanted to use. Donna Salazar has been an inspiration to me for a long time and I have been saving one of the camo flowers I purchased at her etsy shop for this special card. Her work at Prima and through her career gives me hope that I can achieve whatever I want. The paper was Stampin Up kraft cardstock & ribbon, as well as Basic Grey (Bittersweet, Porcelain). The embellishments are Me&My Big ideas (MAMBI) puffy flourishes and Fashion District butterfly. A Prima fleur vintage style flower capped with Say it in Crystals is the cherry on the cake. It was loads of fun to create and Veronica said her mother loved it... I am a happy camper

Cards: Merry Wishes

I have been in a creative frenzy lately. I am not one to question it though, LOL! Sometimes it's like popping the cork out of a wine bottle sometimes it's like a leaky faucet. Go figure!!
This set of cards is listed on Etsy.

My new TOY!

As an early birthday present I treated myself to a Nintendo DS Lite with the Brain Age 2 game. I chose the Crimson and Black one. After adding a gorgeous Basic Grey rubon and some Bling (Heidi Swapp, MAMBI, Walmart) it shows my style for ALL to see.
I encourage anyone who has problems remembering what they were about to say to get Brain Age. Believe it or not my first result showed I had a Brain Age of 80, yes 8-0! I have now worked it down to 70 but it is still not where I need it to be. The game also taught me SUDOKU and now I'm hooked.
