Canine Cards: Beagle Revisited

Sometime last year I created this Beagle card in the hopes of finding the right recipient. I am happy to say that day has come. So Amy who is the proud Momma of Logan the Beagle will be receiving this card. I have it on good authority that the dog on the card is the spitting image of Logan. I trust Amy will love the card and treasure it as much as she does Logan.

Pug card: Bette's card from Yoshi

This card is Yoshi's way of thanking his friend, Bette for showcasing him in the PDCA Nationals catalog. Yoshi's career is at an all time high and he is a proud little pug. He wanted me to add thank you in different languages (chinese, spanish, english) as he has fans in many countries.

Canine card: Belgian beauty

Brussels Griffons are an intimidating little dog to me so it has taken me this long to find the perfect way to showcase her. I decided to start with a feminine card that could show off  her expressive eyes. Looking at her it is hard for me to believe that they were originally used as ratters by stablemen. They are one of the most adorable dogs in person in the toy group ring. They have an attitude that lets everyone know who's boss.

Canine card: Ooo La La!

Bienvenue mon amis (Welcome my friends!) to my continuing canine card collection. Welcome to beauty and creativity. This bling took my breath away and I have been keeping myself from over using it. This was the perfect place for it. The sweetness of this French Bulldog screams out Paris.

When I think Paris I see masterpieces in the world's great museums, delicious chocolates, breathtaking sites (like the Eiffel tower) and beautiful cruises down the Seine. I know the ship pictured is a cruise ship, but that was the general idea.

This card would be the perfect gift for any French Bulldog lover. If you would like any card customized with your preferred breed, leave me a comment or drop me a message.

Canine card: Schnauzer

Where yesterday's card was ALL girl, this is an ALL boy card. He strikes me as a little pampered doggie who protects his house and humans. In his closet I bet he has a few spiffy outfits for every occasion. He loves going out on play dates but it may take awhile for him to share his toys. He's got a secret that I wish I could know.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I trust you enjoy this unique handmade card.

Canine card: Pretty lady

This pretty lady is a Japanese Chin. I wanted to make sure the photo was the star of the card and everything else was just secondary. Like an ancient geisha she never goes anywhere without her flowered fan. The bling is like a soft whisper of wind traveling through.

Canine Card: Springer Spaniel

This Springer Spaniel has such an expressive face I did not want to detract from it. The embellishments are minimal and the coat of arms shows where the breed originated. The wood patterned paper has a subtle doily pattern to soften the wood look.

Canine Card: Shetland Island beauty

This is one of my favorite rustic style cards. The beauty of the Shetland Sheepdog inspired me to create a unique feeling card. The Scotland Coat of Arms is gorgeous and brings in the history of this breed. Chevron and wood patterned paper were used to add a rich mix of textures.

Canine card: German memories

These doberman puppies remind me of my time in Germany. Some people may consider them scary or vicious but their protective streak can be mistaken for being aggressive. They are loyal and playful dogs! This card is a tribute to their strong, gentle spirit.

Canine card: Chows

This breed always reminds me of those big lions in front of courthouses. They are extremely loyal and protective. Their fur reminds me of a big fluffy stuffed toy in this myriad of colors!

Canine card: Corgi

Here is the latest installment in my Canine Card Collection. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a breed close to my heart as it used to be a family pet. I trust you enjoy this card.

Little bling details complement the card along with the Welsh Coat of Arms.

Canine card: Boston Terrier

Research is fascinating to me and this card was no exception. The Boston Terrier was an American creation as it resulted from the crossbreeding of an  English Bulldog and a white English Terrier back in 1891. They have been nicknamed "The American Gentleman" because of their dapper appearance. Even though it was initially used as a fighting dog during the Civil War, they are now a sought after gentle house pet.

Hope you all enjoyed this card... Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Canine card: English Bulldog

English bulldog puppies are so adorable to me. In this card I wanted to share a bit of the history behind the breed. Winston Churchill I found was nicknamed the 'British Bulldog' for his dogged perseverance. The name "bull" was applied to them because of their connection with bull baiting. From experience with the breed they tend to be gentle and protective. I believe I featured that with the photo of an adorable bulldog puppy.

Canine card: Chinese Cresteds

I have to admit this breed has been a trying challenge. It is one of those dogs that turns heads when it walks by. The reactions range from one end to another. I wanted to place them in a serene background of bamboo leaves and stalks. During a recent trip to Michael's I was lucky enough to find some nifty oriental-themed brads. The coin brad I used is a symbol of good fortune.

Canine card: Boxer

This card boasts a '100 % satisfaction guaranteed' and with a face like that I bet nobody would argue with that statement. My main inspiration with these canine cards is falling in love with a new breed every day. I have never owned a boxer but just staring into those chocolatey eyes my heart quivers.

Canine card: Ooo La La! French bulldog

Something wonderfully unexpected happened to me this weekend. You see, in the process of showing our friend Betty my other canine cards she fell in love with this French Bulldog card I created. One of her friends (at this weekend's dog show in Missouri) is a breeder of French Bulldogs and she bought this card on the spot so she could gift it to her.

Each card is an extension of me and it surprises me when someone loves them so much they want to gift one to a friend.

Canine card: Bedrock watch out!

This adorable pug featured above is named "Barney Rubble". He is our friend Betty's grand champion pug. It was one of my first cards created on the go. Even though it was a scary challenge, it was one I enjoyed. Betty was in love with the card. She even mentioned placing it in a prominent spot in her home where she could admire it at any time.

Thank you Betty for everything! Your friendship is an incredible gift!
