Canine card: Dachshund

Another installment of my canine cards. In this card I feature one of my favorite breeds, the Dachshund. Growing up I had 2 of them in the house, and then they had puppies! It was a great childhood in a menagerie of other animals as well.

Canine card: French Poodle

When I think of a French Poodle I see a very delicate fluffy dog. That was my vision when I was creating my latest card. I used frilly embellishments. These include the French Coat of Arms, French Stamp, and a vintage postcard of the Eiffel Tower.
Each card I make teaches me more about the wealth of history in AKC breeds. Every single door has its own personality and character. I trust each of you is enjoying my adventures in Canine Cards.
The crown atop the Coat of Arms is adorned with a little red jewel. After all every card needs just a little bit of Bling to make it sparkle.

Mini Album: Jaelynn Lasai, part 3

The adventure continues with the next 2 pocket pages. The pink damask paper is flocked. The colorful glittery stickers are from Target's 99 cent section.

I used some paper tape to create a pull tape for the music note patterned paper. The fun embellishment was from my stash.

The sticker quote from Helen Keller was appropriate "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows"

The pullout pages on that page are from Little Yellow Bicycle's family journal ticket pad.

Mini Album: Jaelynn Lasai, part 2

When I found this glittery paper at Michael's I knew I wanted to use it in this mini album.

In my eyes, babies are the most pure beings on Earth. This is just a poor way of showing what a blessing they are.

Recollections make these glowing bling that I found on sale at Michael's while I was in Houston. Yes! I even shopped when I was away from home.

More pages to follow!

Mini journal: Graceful as a butterfly

As a part of my new beginning I have set out to participate in many more online challenges this year. I find it helps me to focus my energy in a useful and productive way. In this page from my mini journal, the challenge was to use a quote in your project. The quote I chose was from a Chinese proverb that states "To forget one's ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without a root." The genealogist in my nature could not agree with that statement more. The photo is of my grandmother when she was a young graceful lady. The grace I embodied through the use of the feather, lace border and pearls.
My grandmother was an accomplished pianist, violinist, and a gifted seamstress. I have inherited her gift in art and some have said I bear a striking resemblance to her. I was blessed in knowing her.

Challenge: Got Sketch Butterfly

My dear friend Melina has always been there for me.... and this week she invited me to do an online challenge with her. It gave a nice kick in the pants I did not know I needed. The sketch was from Got Sketch. As far as the sentiment I could not come up with one that I liked.
