WW: Owl of a birthday

For the first wonderful wednesday of the year, I decided to create something extra special. This card showcases the new designer hardware (HOORAY) and the Raspberry Tart designer series paper offered by Stampin Up. Another of my favorite things to use are Heidi Swapp's silhouette stickers. They look SO striking on this black fold over black card by POSH limited. I have been a huge Dee Gruenig fan ever since I saw her cheery segment on the Carol Duvall show.

Altered project: Canvas Motivational Plaque

This little plaque was a request from my brother after he saw my last canvas project. He wanted something he could look at that would motivate him on some of his difficult days. I picked a few quotes and he chose his top 3 quotes. Of course being a mega sports fan one of those quotes had to be by Vince Lombardi. The medium used is a transparency attached with 1/8" tacky tape to a 5x7 canvas panel. I added some Crop-A-Dile eyelets and threaded some ribbon to make it easier to tack to his cubicle wall. The swirly embellishment is a American Crafts Thickers chipboard shape sticker. It was a quick project!

Cards: Sweet One

I can hardly believe how productive this week has been for me, LOL! - Stamped one of the stamps from the So Many Scallops set and punched it out with my SU scallop punch. I thought the color combo would be yummy...SU Regal Rose card stock, SU Purely Pomegranate, SU Berry Bliss Designer Series paper, and one strip of SU Au Chocolat paper. Can you believe I even got to use my Crop-a-dile to punch and set eyelets. It was such a FUN card to make. Yay!

A little heart

This is a little detail of the fabric wrapping I created for the previously mentioned mini baby album commissioned by FickleZeal Photography. Again that little gem looking heart I found in the unlikeliest of places (Wedding Favors aisle at Walmart). I love my Crop-A-Dile so I decided to thread the embellishment through a word eyelet that says "delightful, adorable, charming". The whole illusion that the heart is about to drop in the hand was totally unplanned... One of my fortunate accidents.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Marquetry masterpiece

On January 19th I posted a little taste of this project. I am always on the lookout for new material to work with and last month while shopping at an educational supply store I found these gems. They are double-sided marquetry (wood veneer) pieces which you can arrange in whatever way you want. I created this for my cousin Jenna Palomino and her family. Each corner was separated to make individual mini albums with each family member's initial. The mini album is held closed with a Stampin Up circle clip and attached to the canvas with a Making Memories decorative brad that makes it swivel open. The center I embellished with one of the new We R Memory Keepers grommlets (used the new CROP-A-DILE BIG BITE), Doodlebug rhinestone, and MAMBI rhinestone word (FAMILY). This specific project i mounted on a canvas and then wrapped the edges with 7Gypsies gaffer tape. I found using gaffer tape makes an unfinished canvas look framed.

Just a taste!

Here is just a taste of something I am currently working on that is bringing me so much JOY. As soon as the project is finished I will add it to my blog. For all those who were curious YES I did use the new Crop-A-Dile 2 to set one of their Gromm-lets. I am hooked.

New Crop-A-Dile 2 (Big Bite)

I am so excited I found out about the new Crop A Dile 2 on HSN. The price of $39.95 was not that steep, in my view since it included 350 grommets. YES you can set eyelets and grommets.
I am such a tool wench..... and proud of it. Orange is one of my favorite colors too! LOL
