Challenge: Crossroads

I love doing interesting challenges and this is one I found on Stacy Julian's Blog. The basics were Nature photo + Highlight Color + Inspiration. This photo was taken on my trip to Fort Worth when my cousins (Jenna, Sabrina, Mic) took me to the STOCKYARDS. The sun was setting and it was bringing out the gleam in all the metal around the train tracks. I chose metallic tones as my highlight color. The inspiration was that aside from the physical crossroads I was at an emotional one that had brought me closer to long lost cousins. I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge. Thanks Stacy!

Cards: Make a Wish

I love the punch of color the die cut blooms flower adds to this card. Used the She's All That stamp set, SU Au Chocolat paper, SU River Rock double-stitched ribbon, and 7 Gypsies Zanzibar Black gaffer tape. The corner piece on the top of the card was cut from Die Cuts with a View Pocket Full of Posies glitter paper. I broke out those cute Wal-mart (can't remember the brand) yellow mini roses to add to the embellished die cut blooms...and TA-DAH!

Cards: Sweet One

I can hardly believe how productive this week has been for me, LOL! - Stamped one of the stamps from the So Many Scallops set and punched it out with my SU scallop punch. I thought the color combo would be yummy...SU Regal Rose card stock, SU Purely Pomegranate, SU Berry Bliss Designer Series paper, and one strip of SU Au Chocolat paper. Can you believe I even got to use my Crop-a-dile to punch and set eyelets. It was such a FUN card to make. Yay!

Cards: Here comes the bride

In this card I used one of the stamps from the She's All That stamp set. Again I used Purely Pomegranate in the cardstock and I discovered the versatility of the SU die cut blooms. If you look at that corner i used one of the blue flowers and folded it to mimic the flowers in the bride's bouquet. It took a little trial and error but i slit each pedal down the middle, folded the flower and hooked it on the edge of the card. To give it a more realistic look i took a green mini flower from the same die cut blooms to look like the base of the flower. I added a Prima flower and a doodlebug jewel for the BLING factor. The patterned paper I chose was the Au Chocolat Designer Series Paper by Stampin'Up. I love love love double sided patterned paper and the fact that it's chocolate color is an extra bonus. The satin ribbon I found in the Michaels $1 bin (I'm a big bargain hunter, LOL!).
