WW: Mini Album

I have noticed that inspiration seems to strike me in the most wonderful of ways. This was the case with my latest creation! Inspired by a picture mat I bought at Wal-Mart...



Rotated and distressed with Tim Holtz alcohol inks, stickles, and grungeboard elements I have to say I am incredibly pleased with it.

I embellished the grungeboard with alcohol ink and stickles

I used flocked patterned paper for the back cover which gives it a vintage-y look

Challenge: Crossroads

I love doing interesting challenges and this is one I found on Stacy Julian's Blog. The basics were Nature photo + Highlight Color + Inspiration. This photo was taken on my trip to Fort Worth when my cousins (Jenna, Sabrina, Mic) took me to the STOCKYARDS. The sun was setting and it was bringing out the gleam in all the metal around the train tracks. I chose metallic tones as my highlight color. The inspiration was that aside from the physical crossroads I was at an emotional one that had brought me closer to long lost cousins. I thoroughly enjoyed this challenge. Thanks Stacy!

This page came together so quickly once I chose these awesome grungeboard letters and crown. I used Tim Holtz OLD PAPER & FIRED BRICK distress crackle paint, Making Memories COUNTRY BLUE fresh anthology paint, Heidi Swapp PUMPKIN acrylic paint, Tim Holtz distress inks in TEA DYE & BRUSHED CORDUROY, and Colorbox warm violet chalk ink. My new favorite punch is the Stampin'Up star punch (1 and 3/4"). I used Stampin'Up patterned paper from Fall Flowers and Western Sky. The cardstock is from Bazzill.
This is my gift to my cousin Jenna's son Nate on his birthday. I hope he likes it. I will be traveling to Texas today to deliver it to him.

Scrapbook: Blossoming Beauty

I used so many different techniques on this page. The actual idea for the layout came from the PageMaps website, even though I tweaked it a little. Instead of using paper I used some tape and Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink (with distressing tool) to add a new color/texture to the paper. You may recognize the stamp I used from the She's All That SU set, along with Tim Holtz Grungeboard "B" and American Crafts foam thickers. On my last trip to Scrapbook Central I found these cool looking puff stickers by SEI (I think they're called Dill Blossom). If you haven't guessed it already I am a HUGE rubon freak, and I love Hambly's white rubons which i embellished with a doodlebug jewel. Now I'm off to get some rest....I'm exhausted.

Inspired by Grunge

Coming back from such an inspiring day made me create this pin for my niece with Tim Holtz grungeboard, plastic frame, and crackle paints (spiced marmalade, fired brick). I could not leave rub-ons off my creation. The LOVE sticker is by Making Memories.

She has gotten tons of compliments at school from classmates asking her where they can get one just like it.
