Handmade card: Stand up and Dance

One of my favorite things is when someone gives me total creative freedom. In this card I was told "she likes PURPLE". Thank you Ms Jackson for giving me the freedom to create a beautiful birthday card for a beautiful lady.

Handmade card & envelope: Proud congrats

My mission in creating cards is conceptualizing unique concepts for special events. Many things run through my head when someone asks me for a congratulations card. As someone who has been blessed to get a university degree, I know what goes into making it to graduation.

It is a right of passage to achieve a higher education. That is not to say this card would not be just as appropriate for someone who gets selected for their dream job.

Card: Warden Hall's Farewell

Manly cards are a wonderful challenge for me. In my experience, all farewell cards are not the same. For this one I knew the warden loves golfing and is retiring to be closer to his family after 20+ years in service.

Once I found the image of an old fashioned golfer, the look of the card materialized. I had some weathered wood paper that I wanted to make the background. Even though I was unable to graphically show his love for Texas, I believe I achieved the rustic look I envisioned.

The envelope is from SEI's Savory Collection. I loved the almost barn color I see everywhere here in Central Texas. I want a step further by lining the inside of the envelope with the green plaid paper I used on the card.

Card with Envelope: Terri's Farewell

My cards are selling themselves, as my sister said this week. Every time I get commissioned to create a card for one of her co-workers another commission materializes. The energy generated is thrilling.

This specific card was created for a Radiology Tech named Terri who was leaving for a new job opportunity.  As preparation I was told she loved the beach, buddha and meditation.

I went online and searched for some Photoshop brushes and found a treasure trove of oriental themed ones I could use. Thanks Brusheezy.com for helping me out with your amazing brushes.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I appreciate the time each of you take out of your busy lives to check out my creations.

Altered: Wood block

I am still in the process of transferring my wood mounted stamps to the EZ Mount system so I have loads of blocks that I can re-purpose. I distressed it with Tim Holtz distress inks, added a few Stampin Up On Board ornaments & trinkets, and finished it off with Prima Say It in Crystals.

Cards: Crystal Fantasy

When I purchased the limited edition Prima Say It In Crystals flourishes (blue/purple) I knew I wanted to create something unique. In my stash I found this Karen Foster PP which I embellished with a blue Sakura Souffle pen. The flowers and brad used are from Stampin Up's Pretties kit both distressed with chalk inks. I recently received the new Stampin Up ALWAYS stamp set and I thought the phrase was perfect for this card. As you have seen in some of my previous posts I love to embellish chipboard, so I stayed true to form. I used a small heart from SU's On Board Elements pack and colored it with Purely Pomegranate classic stamping ink and a white Signo pen.

Sabrina's gift

I love to give unexpected gifts, so when I found out when my cousin Sabrina's was I created this canvas photo frame for her. Her birth was a mother's day gift to her own mother. This frame took the ink so perfectly I fell in love with it. It made me feel so happy to be giving this to her. She deserves this small gift and so much more.
Happy Birthday, Sabrina!
