Handmade envelope: Home away from home

The stitched brad I used on this envelope was almost tailor made. I don't think any other brad could echo the look of a hibiscus flower the same way. The jewel brad was my attempt at adding a little more decadence.

The recipient of this envelope considers Hawaii her home away from home so I wanted to allude to that. The alphabet letter I used is actually a combination of an "L" and an "I" to represent a Tiki motif. Again I used a Prima paper leaf cut up to look like a palm frond.

Handmade envelope: Father's Day from Yoshi

Here's the handmade envelope for the Father's Day card I created for Yoshi's daddy. He was particular that it had to be colorful like his Poppa's favorite shirts. The buttons were my idea and thankfully he allowed me to put them on the front of the envelope. The flower was found in one of the Michaels' clearance bin, and I was so happy that it almost matched the patterned paper perfectly.

Handmade envelope: French bulldog

This envelope just makes me smile and it reminded me of the stripes on the French Bulldog's sweater. The closure features a Marah Johnson heart brads with some Martha Stewart Crafts baker's twine.

Canine card: Samoyed

Another month has arrived, and with it another set of canine cards that I trust all of you will enjoy. There are some other collections in the works that I will be unveiling soon. Please feel free to suggest any motif you would like to see me use in my handmade cards.
Just like with the Siberian Husky, the Samoyed is one of those fluffy dogs I love. The accents were Photoshop brushes and a jewel brad I embellished with heart punches in different colors/sizes.

Envelope: Handmade floral

A bigger (more beautiful) view at the handmade envelope I mentioned yesterday.

My goal was to make a colorful and floral envelope. The patterned paper is from Tim Holtz' Lost and Found paper stack. The scalloped cardstock is from Ditto, and after embellishing it with some chalk inks all it needed was a little yarn.

The closure, as with the other envelopes, is made with coordinating brads. The jewel brad is from Recollections and the smaller patterned brad is from Making Memories. Martha Stewart Crafts baker's twine brings the closure to completion.

It is a refreshing feeling to not be restricted by the worry of "where will my card fit?"... I create the card and a matching envelope that takes everyone's breath away. What else could I ask for than a total card giving and receiving experience.

Thank you all for stopping by my blog! and allowing me to share my creations with you.

Sneak peek: Handmade floral envelope

Here is a little peek at my latest creation, a handmade envelope I created for a farewell card I was commissioned to make.

Each commission is an adventure into outdoing myself. Challenges make my creative life fun.

Mini Album: Jaelynn Lasai, part 4

Glittery and blingy with a touch of whimsy onesie!

I found the Tim Holtz hanger clip first and then I went on the hunt for an appropriate onesie. Isn't it "berry cute"?

The journaling ticket from Teresa Collins brought in the princessy touch to the page. I added some Recollections bling to each point of the crown.

No baby album would be complete without a page for the first birthday.

Stay tuned for many more exciting projects, coming soon.

Envelope: Get well

Here is the full envelope!

Once I created a handmade envelope I was hooked. Now each of my cards will have a matching handmade envelope. No more worrying about running out of "regular" envelopes.

Most of the paper in my stash is so gorgeous, cutting it up into unrecognizable pieces would be a crime.

Sneak Peek: Get well envelope

A very dear family friend went through surgery this month. As a way of showing her how much she means to us, I created this handmade envelope and accompanying card.

The ladybug on the envelope is a link to the look of the card (to follow shortly).

These brads I chose to coordinate with the colors of the paper. The baker's twine linking the two brads together is by Martha Stewart Crafts.
