Yoshi card: Dream bigger
In learning about show pugs I have come to the conclusion that you can always achieve your dreams if you dream bigger than the expected. Showing black pugs has been an adventure and one that I have enjoyed immensely. Enjoy!

Family page: Army Proud
Our uncle Mike served proudly in the Army. While in service his first born son, my cousin Anthony, was born in Germany. It was my cousin who provided me these wonderful photos. Scrappad is still one of my favorite apps on my iPad mini.

Handmade card: Happy Birthday Scott!
Today is my nephew's 14th birthday. It seems like just yesterday he was rolling around in his playpen. He would totally get red with embarrassment at that story, but it's my blog and I can write whatever I want. I am glad his mother changed her mind about choosing a unique name like 'Atticus finch'. The name Scott suits him perfectly. Happy Birthday Scott!

Yoshi Card: Super Star
Just returned from a San Antonio dog show where our Grand Champion, Yoshi, was awarded Select Dog. This award is a 4-point major win. In our eyes he is a Super Star every day, but it's always good when someone else agrees.

Mini Album: Worth every minute - Part 2

In welcoming someone into our family I wanted to show how home is a relative term. In the way I wrote 'Home is where you are' and added the figuresnext to a cozy house.
Dylusions Postbox RED made the heart mask show perfectly. I enjoy working with all kinds of found objects or leftover chipboard sheets.

Yoshi card: Celebrating Shirley

Yet another unique Yoshi card was created for his Aunt Shirley (his grandpa's mommy). It is amazing how much I have learned about pugs since I got to Texas. She is a close friend and supporter, so her satisfaction is one of my goals when I make her cards.
She loves the cute tricks he can do, like sitting up when he wants a treat or just to watch his favorite western on TV.
The photo I used may have been indoors but the card is all about the great Texas scenery.
Thanks for visiting my blog!

Yoshi card: Better late than never
Yoshi's Auntie Marie is one of his favorite people to cuddle with at any time. His photos are more than just an inspiration. He is a larger than life character so it is always a challenge to outdo the last card. Marie lives in the Texas Hill Country so I always like to add wildflowers since they are her favorite.
I used some ribbon that I distressed with some of Tim Holtz' distress stain, just love the STUFF! It adds that little something that finishes everything like nothing else. Jenni Bowlin's star stickers is another must have for me. It helps me personalize any card or envelope. The Prima bling needs no explanation, LOL.

Handmade envelope:Freshly caught
The envelope for yesterday's highlighted handmade card had to be as masculine as I could make it. The above closure brad was a plain brown mega brad when I decided to add a star sticker in the middle of it. The recipient is a proud retired veteran and (current) correctional officer/mentor. He is a proud member of the unit where I work.
Despite not knowing him for a long time I could tell he is a PROUD American who is making the most of his beautiful life. He enjoys every aspect of fishing, from enjoying the outdoors to bringing back that perfect catch.
Looking forward to your comments and/or suggestions... Thank you for following my blog!

Sneak peek: Gratitude and Gifts
In the last couple of months I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for all of the blessings that have come my way. I have a job that allows me to work with amazing people. Even though at times it can become stressful the laughter and teamwork, shared in the quiet time, make up for it.
It has only taken me this long to restart my blog because I wanted to excel at my day job. My creative mind has never been as active as when I am learning new things. I take pieces of paper where I can doodle in between job tasks.
I trust what I have to share in the coming days/weeks/months will show how my creativity has developed. My gift to you is a small sample.

Handmade envelope: Vintage homemade
This envelope was created for yesterday's handmade card. Heidi Swapp's Color Magic paper is an amazing product. I love the subtleties I can achieve with inks.
I was looking to make it appear vintagey and dimensional. I love Amy Tangerine's thickers and the little stitch marks on them.

Handmade Card: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Vintage planes, trains and automobiles inspired this travel card. It would be perfect for anyone who has returned from, or is heading on a great trip. The slide shows the Taj Mahal under the caption "Going Places." I love the chevron background as a symbol of coming and going while traveling to and fro.
Thank you for stopping by my blog! Stay tuned for a variety of different creations in the weeks and months to come.

Pug cards: Is something missing?
On this my birthday month, I decided to depict a pug with a sad birthday. His cake is missing and he's not feeling the love. My heart just went out to him with the confetti coming down all around and the paper horns tooting (or whatever sound it is they make!). Wishing all my fellow Geminis out there a very happy birthday!
Thanks again for stopping by my blog!!

Pug cards: Yoshi says...
For Yoshi, happiness is playing outside with his toy elephant. I wanted to echo that in the look of the card. He is a ball of energy and a photogenic little ham of a pug. This is one of my favorite cards I have created. What do you think???
