She loved it!
Amanda loved the gifts I made for her and my cousin Sabrina sent me the picture to prove it. As it happens she received them yesterday which was her actual birthday DAY. I thought it would be a belated present, but it turned out to be right on time, LOL!

A great deal
While at Super Walmart today, I decided to check out their scrapbook section because sometimes they have cheap embellishments there. Little did I know I would find this gorgeous 12x12 Provo Craft "Albums a la Mode" D-Ring binder for $19.97.....Cha-ching! SOLD. This was my first time seeing this product and I could just not pass it up. Isn't it gorgeous???

Mask - work in progress
I got this raw unfinished wood purse with a bamboo handle. Took some acrylic paint,Tim Holtz distress crackle tea dye paint, Adirondack color wash paint plus a heidi swapp floral mask....and you get a "Work in progress".
I will be adding more embellishments to the bottom of the purse along with lining the inside with some groovy felt. This is one of my favorite non-scrapbooking projects.
What do you think?

On its way!
Today I carefully wrapped the peek-a-boo package and went to my local post office to send it on its way to Texas. This package was created with LOVE for a very special little girl. Her mommy is my cousin Sabrina who has welcomed me into her family. Within a couple of days this gift will reach its destination. I love wrapping gifts with fabric instead of wrapping paper. It adds a little extra handmade touch to the whole thing.

Favorite things
This is one of my NEW favorite things... My colorful BUTTERFLY car charm hanging from my rear view mirror. Every once in a while it reminds me to take a deep breath and just relax. I love all the little details... a few hearts cut out of the pewter, little shocks of color here and there, and the pretty flower on the side.

Exuberance or....
When I saw this photo I immediately thought of EXUBERANCE, but I would like to ask you (my friends) to tell me what this picture makes you feel. Once I get your reply i will give you the explanation of who this is and what feeling she wanted to portray.
The photo depicts Sara Bareilles new mood. How she feels inside now that her life is falling into place. Sorry about the cloak and dagger routine. I just wanted to see what the responses would be.

Inspired by Sara Bareilles
Just found the video of a song Melina sent me. It complements the song so well I wanted to share it on this blog. It's one of those hope-filled videos that have a bit of whimsy thrown in. I hope you enjoy it!

Just a taste!
Here is just a taste of something I am currently working on that is bringing me so much JOY. As soon as the project is finished I will add it to my blog. For all those who were curious YES I did use the new Crop-A-Dile 2 to set one of their Gromm-lets. I am hooked.

Reminiscing...
Shopping, dinner and dancing with Anthony was how I spent New Year's Eve. Keeping up with my cousin Anthony was a FUN and unforgettable experience. He took these pictures with his brand new camera and I think he was able to find my best angle. I felt like I received the supermodel treatment.... from a new pair of gorgeous heels (for a quarter), to a sparkly cocktail dress that made me feel and LOOK like a million bucks.

Sense - Ational Sundays!
I read this on Emily Adams' blog and it seemed like such an awesome idea I decided to share it with my friends. In her own words "Our senses tell a story. I've committed to recording my 5 senses once a week to explore my sensory world. I challenge you to do the same. If you choose to do so, just blog your 5 senses every Sunday & let me know, I'd love to read them."
I happily accept the challenge and it sounds like so much fun (and no that is not part of my 5 senses yet).
I SEE:
I am a reality tv junkie, and although I have NO idea why CourtTV had to change their name, most of my favorite shows (Forensic Files, The Investigators, Most Shocking, Dominick Dunne's Power Priviledge and Justice). You can tell I could just go on and on about it, LOL!
I HEAR:
I just got a new car that included a 6-mth free subscription to Sirius radio. My favorite is channel 103 - Blue Collar Comedy which includes skits from top comedians(Larry the Cable Guy, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall). The icing on the cake was when I found out when not in the car I can listen to all my channels online. HAPPY new year! hehehe
I TASTE:
One of my favorite snacks are cold cuts so along with my current staples (cheese, turkey), I purchased a guilty pleasure "PROSCIUTTO". I love to eat it rolled up with my favorite cheese (Muenster). Comparing it to ham is like comparing a soy burger to an Angus burger. It is so delicious it is beyond words.
I TOUCH:
I admit another of my guilty pleasures happen to be reading Blaze romance novels. Why that specific one?.... Shhhh **don't tell anyone**they are raunchy. That felt good to say, I mean, write.
I SMELL:
Florida Water is one of my favorite scents and one that brings back fond memories of my childhood. I use it as a refreshing after shower body splash. It's a mix of floral essential oils that I can even remember my grandmother using to bless the house. I have followed that family tradition where I live and I find that along with SAGE it does help. It leaves everything smelling like (my own version of) heaven.
Mike Strong Stamps
I love artsy (Cloisonne) stamps and when I saw Mike Strong's Hearts Overflowing video on CraftTV weekly I fell in love. I love watching his videos because he makes them so easy to follow. I ordered some of his stamps and was surprised when I received an email from Mike Strong himself. I ordered the heart and the fan. Mike Strong emailed me back to let me know the heart stamp comes with an acrylic block. Yay! - I encourage anyone who is ito rubberstamping to check his website Mike Strong Stamps.
Joy is...
Last night I created a layout inspired by Melina's Tree Hugger/Celebrate Everyday layout. As soon as I get my digital camera back I will add it to my blog. Working with Jenni Bowlin's paper and chipboard frames was awesome. I look forward to getting all your input.

Artful jewelry
Through my blog expedition I found Marah Johnson's fabulous Blog. The picture was taken at one of the jewelry classes she teaches. I am not a big jewelry person, but I love the whimsical quality in the bracelet and ring she teaches in her class.
I hope to one day be lucky enough to take one of her classes. Great work, Marah!

My one little word
I decided that for 2008 I would strive to add JOY to my work. Last year was a very hectic and disjointed year creatively and emotionally. My work is inspired and reassured by Ali Edwards' LIFE ARTIST and DESIGNER'S EYE FOR SCRAPBOOKING.

Glittery!
I got 5 new pairs of shoes on New Year's Eve including this pair of Mary Jane's that I wore to usher in the new year with the hottest fishnet stockings I have ever worn. My feet and legs looked so HOT!!!
