Handmade card: Love every moment

As I have mentioned before, I love challenging occasion for cards. In this case a friend wanted a special card for her fiancé for, in her own words, putting up with her. Her fiancé loves riding his motorcycle in his free time, but yet he has a soft cuddly side watching movies with her. I handed this card to her this morning and look forward to hearing what his reaction was to receiving it.

Mini Journal: Tread your own path

On a recent trip to Mount Bonnell, I found a piece of tread and a couple of stones. The hike up to the top was amazing and I was thoroughly inspired by nature. My mountain goat "hiking" skills may be rusty but the experience was unforgettable. The circle sheet (to be used as a mask) was left over from a package of dimensional pop dots.

The being of light is how I felt when I completed the hike. The heart was drawn like a vibrant patch for a bright effect. I also wrote some words to describe the feelings needed to endure such a hike. Some of these were: perseverance, passion, pleasure/pain, truth, faith, etc. I even found myself finger painting and remember how fun it felt to just CREATE without limits. It was invigorating, DIRTY but invigorating! LOL

This is the finished product and I admit looking at the completed work I feel victorious.  My calligraphy also looks right at home on this page. The hike was well worth waking up early on a Sunday for the great inspiration!

Handmade Tag: Discovering my style

I have this crazy love for wood patterned paper. It may be the distressed thing or just the realistic thing. This tag was a fun challenge to myself. The feather I added just for kicks (I found it in the backyard today!)
When I saw these K&Co slide stickers in the store I knew they were the dimensional fanciful embellishments I needed on my cards. A little change of pace from all the canine cards. You know what they say about variety being the spice of life. Back to canine cards tomorrow! Any requests or challenges?! Please let me know and I will gladly oblige.

Pug cards: Registered cuties

My goal with this pug card was to create a title that was as adorable as the look on their faces. They may have their serious faces on but I still think they are super cute. That is the funny thing about most pugs, they are serious one second and goofballs the next. Any pug owner will back me up on that.

Mask - work in progress

I got this raw unfinished wood purse with a bamboo handle. Took some acrylic paint,Tim Holtz distress crackle tea dye paint, Adirondack color wash paint plus a heidi swapp floral mask....and you get a "Work in progress".

I will be adding more embellishments to the bottom of the purse along with lining the inside with some groovy felt. This is one of my favorite non-scrapbooking projects.
What do you think?
