Stampin Up: Online Ordering is HERE!

Stampin Up has launched online ordering to assist customers. It will not do away with the assistance I can provide, however it gives each customer 24/7 access to catalogs and special offers.

Card: Krafty congratulations!

My goal this week is to create super SIMPLE colorful cards. For those that know me understand this is a big stretch, since I tend to fret over each project. I have been known to embellish projects to within an inch of its life. This self imposed project is to take my creativity to a new level. Next week I will move onto a new goal.

Weather: Hurricane Ike path

Hurricane Ike is currently bearing down on the eastern coast of Cuba. I pray everyone is safely sheltered.

Weather: Dodged another one

Florida has dodged another bullet. Hurricane Ike has forced the keys to be evacuated again but my area of South Florida will not get hit. Yay! Thanks to everyone for their prayers and best wishes.

Weather: Hurricane IKE

I spent most of yesterday shopping for hurricane supplies and making sure my car was fully gassed up. Believe it or not there were lines at the gas station yesterday. After 3 hrs of traffic jams in the aisles of my local Super Walmart I finally got home.
I only mention this because it left me exhausted and unable to create any new layouts or cards. I hope to create a few birthday cards today to use some of my new Jolee's dimensional stickers.

Hurricane Ike is now scheduled to become a Category 4 later today and sneak his way into the Gulf of Mexico. The forecasters (as of the 8 am advisory above) has South Florida still in the CONE of uncertainty. Even though I have been living in South Florida since 1996 I have yet to get used to the Storm factor.

Scrapbook: Cherish Memories

After learning my passion for old photos, my friend emailed me a photo of his family taken in the 1950s (I think!). I printed the photo on a transparency and attached it to white cardstock to allow all the little details to stand out. I really think it is a perfect frame for his family photo.

Altered project: Distressed tea canister

My favorite drink is 4C Green Tea and recently I began buying these tall canisters instead of the single packets. I liked the plastic canister so much I decided to take the labels off and try to customize it with alcohol inks and paper.

I added alcohol inks with the Tim Holtz distressing tool (red pepper, eggplant, moss) and once dry i streaked it with the felt pad itself. It felt a little like finger painting and it went on perfectly smooth.

A few scraps of patterned paper and sticker letters...

I added an epoxy sticker to the lid and VOILA!
Patterned Paper: Stampin Up DS Berry Bliss
Letters: American Crafts thickers, American Crafts LAX
Sticker: Marah Johnson epoxy
